The King of Wisdom
We examine the life of King Solomon, also known as Jedidiah, ruler of Israel. Solomon was a Jewish prophet, who inherited the House of David, his father. He was powerful, dedicated to God and wise beyond his years. He is infamous for building the first temple in Jerusalem to honor God. Solomon was offered as a peace sacrifice to God, by David for David’s adulterous relationship with Bathsheba.
Solomon is considered the most wealthy of the Israelite kings named in the Bible. This wealth is attributed to his earnest desires to honor the people of Israel and Judah by asking God to gift him, only 15, the wisdom to lead them accordingly. He appointed friends to administration and religious positions, civic and military posts, which strengthened and expanded his military arms, both Calvary and chariot. Trade relations thrived to support the numerous colonies, increasing the trade of gold, silver, ivory and pearls.
